Upcoming Events

Our studio hosts events throughout the year; these include workshops, courses, an exhibition of our artists work and a market place where they can advertise their work for sale.

Please look out for notices of our upcoming events.

Studio Expansion Plan

The Studio has been working hard with our building owners, WASPS, in the development of a proposal to expand our studio into a nearby studio.  This plan involved retaining our existing studio while taking over the occupancy of another large studio space in the same corridor.  As of 8th March 2026, this plan has been approved by our membership so it is now full steam ahead in making things happen.

This is a really exciting time as it enables the studio to better deliver on its commitment to accessible glass art education, while creating more benefits for our members.

We aim to make this space available as soon as possible and we will be working hard with WASPS to get the room fitting out in the coming weeks.  In the meantime we will be open to expressions of interest in the following opportunities:

  • Monday afternoon Stained Glass for Beginners course
  • Tuesday morning hobby club
  • Tuesday afternoon hobby club

We will be focusing on delivering these opportunities first, after which we will continue growing our opportunities into other days of the week.

We will also be making the space available for other glass artists, independent from our studio, to rent the space to allow them to deliver their own larger workshops. More on this in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, details of our classes and hobby clubs are in the link below.  Use the contact form to register your interest.  Thanks.

Stained Glass for Beginners Course

Our ten week evening courses run on Monday evenings, between 6:30pm - 9:00pm.  We currently have a course running and are taking names for our waiting list for the next course due to start in July 2026.

Project one: Traditional stained glass window hanging

For your first project you will make a traditional stained glass window hanging, measuring 15cm x 15cm.

You will learn all the basic skills needed to make a stained glass window hanging such as:

 • Selecting suitable glass.

 • Soldering.

 • Scoring and breaking glass to fit a pattern.

 • Attaching support rings.

 • Grinding glass.

 • Cementing.

 • Lead cutting.

 • Finishing.

Project Two: Individual Project

Once you have completed your traditional lead window hanging, you can move on to your own personal projects. We will work with you to select, plan and source materials for your personal piece, (please note that you will have to purchase the glass for your personal project).

The only constraint to completing your project is time; it usually takes a student about ten hours to do the first project. Each student has about 15 hours in class to complete their personal project. We will help you plan out your project, to ensure that it is finished in the time you have available.
